Concept

Distinctive Features of EP

EP may include “false” or distorted memories created from misperceptions or imagination when recalling trauma. Retrieval may contain unintegrated aspects of the trauma from acute to severe dissociation like DID. When traumatic memories are activated, ANP memory retrieval may be inaccessible rendering them unable to maintain a connection to present reality.
