He argues that God's essence is entirely beyond human comprehension, rationality, and philosophical categorization, asserting that God possesses neither genus (jins) nor species (naw'). Consequently, Jami discourages speculative theological inquiries into 'what He is' (ma huwa) or 'how He is' (kayfa huwa). Instead, he advocates for an approach of simultaneous negation and affirmation (la wa huwa). This means one must negate all otherness and affirm only the divine essence, highlighting the ultimate ineffability and incomprehensibility of the Creator.
