- It is unknown whether prevotella is harmful or beneficial; prevotella is currently a controversial genus of bacteria. It is also unknown if prevotella abundance facilitates SARS-CoV-2 infection, or if infection from SARS-CoV-2 infection leads to an abundance of prevotella in the gut microbiome.
