To edit the references on a node, click on the "Cite an existing reference" button at the bottom left-hand side of the node. Then, click on the reference node you would like to link to.

Ways to Edit a Node

A reference node contains a single citation that references a source used to summarize information on 1Cademy.

Editing a Node's References

To edit the tags on a node, click on the "Add an existing Tag" button at the bottom right-hand side of the node. Then, click on the tag you would like to link to.

Editing a Node's Tags

To edit a node's parent links, first, click on the "View parent and child nodes" button. Then, click on the "Link to an existing parent" button at the bottom right-hand side of the node, above the "cancel" and "propose" buttons. Then, click on the parent you would like to link to.

To delete a parent link, first, choose a new parent, then click on the garbage can icon below the parent link you would like to delete.

To edit a node's child links, first, click on the "View parent and child nodes" button. Then, click on the "Link to an existing child node" button at the bottom left-hand side of the node. Then, click on the child node you would like to link to.

To edit the title of a node, click on the textbox under the prompt "Please enter the node title below."

To add an image to a node, click on the icon next to the "View tags and citations" button. Then, select the image you would like to insert from the file finder.

To delete an image from a node, click on the trash can in the upper-right-hand corner of the image.

Editing a Node's Image

References should be added to a node during its creation, not after. This can be done by clicking on the book icon and selecting '+Cite an existing reference', and selecting the node which contains your reference. If a node containing your citation does not exist yet, you should create that first.

Examples of Reference Nodes on 1Cademy

To add a reference to the map, users will select the reference node to open the draft. The title of the node should correspond to the title of your reference source while the body of the node contains the reference citation.

Proposing Reference Child Nodes on 1Cademy

All information added to the 1Cademy map should be cited by linking the preexisting reference node to the child node using the "cite an existing Reference" button at the bottom of the template. Click that button, then click the reference node you want to link (See "Proposing a Reference Node" to add your citation to the map so you can link it).
