Symptoms includes bloody diarrhea, cramping, hemorrhagic colitis, and profuse bleeding. Complications may result such as HUS.

Enterohemorrhagic E. coli (EHEC): Signs and Symptoms

EHEC, like EPEC, forms pedestals and has LEE. It also produces a toxin similar to the Shiga toxin called the verotoxin. Verotoxin was acquired via transduction, with the Shiga genes from Shigella dysenteriae having integrated into the E. coli chromosome after infection by bacteriophage.
