Epidemiological Data ASD

The most recent epidemiological data suggests that approximately 32% of children with ASD have co-occurring ID (IQ ≤ 70), 24% fall within the borderline range (IQ = 71–85) and 44% fall within the average range (IQ > 85; Christensen et al., 2016). This was another study in the article I read.

ASD sample contains a larger proportion of individuals with severe and profound ID than seen in larger population-based epidemiological studies of ASD.
