Eukaryotic Ribosomes
Eukaryotic cells feature nonorganelle-associated ribosomes (consisting of a small subunit and a large subunit) that are distinct in size and composition from prokaryotic ribosomes. Eukaryotes also contain ribosomes within organelles like mitochondria and chloroplasts, which are equivalent in size to prokaryotic ribosomes.
