Evaluating a Company's Production Strategy

A manufacturing company can produce two types of electronic devices: smartphones and tablets. A graph represents the company's production possibilities, where the shaded area, including its boundary, shows all the combinations of smartphones and tablets it can produce in a month given its current resources (labor, machinery, materials). The company's management chooses to operate at a production level represented by a point located significantly inside this shaded area, not on the boundary. Critically evaluate this production decision. Is it an efficient use of the company's resources? Justify your reasoning.
