Evaluating a Hiring Decision

A manager of a t-shirt printing factory is considering hiring an additional employee. Currently, the factory has 10 employees who collectively produce 500 t-shirts per day. The manager projects that with an 11th employee, the total output would increase to 528 t-shirts per day. The manager calculates that the new average output per employee would be 48 t-shirts (528 / 11), which is still a very productive level. Based on this high average productivity, the manager concludes it is a good decision to hire the new employee. Critically evaluate the manager's reasoning. Is their justification for the hiring decision sound? Explain why or why not, using the provided data to support your argument.
