Case Study

Evaluating a Labor Policy Proposal

A government is considering a new policy to encourage part-time work. Their economic model, which only considers an individual's total weekly income against their total weekly hours of leisure, predicts the policy will be highly successful. However, a survey of the target population reveals that most people value weekend leisure time twice as much as weekday leisure time. Based on this information, critique the conclusion drawn from the economic model. Is the model's prediction reliable? Why or why not?
