Evaluating a Maximum Work-Hour Policy

A government is considering a new law that caps the maximum number of work hours at 40 per week. Using the concepts of feasible frontiers and indifference curves, analyze and evaluate the potential impact of this policy on the well-being (or utility) of two different individuals:

  1. An individual who, before the policy, chose to work 50 hours per week.
  2. An individual who, before the policy, chose to work 30 hours per week.

In your answer, explain how the policy alters the feasible set and discuss whether each individual would be made better off, worse off, or unaffected by this law. You may describe diagrams to support your reasoning.
