Evaluating a Policy Statement on Reservation Wages

A policymaker states: 'During a recession, the only thing that matters for getting people to accept jobs is the availability of those jobs. The level of a person's well-being while unemployed has a negligible impact on their decision-making, so we can ignore unemployment benefits when designing our policies.' Critically evaluate this statement. In your answer, explain how the economic environment influences the factors an individual considers when setting their minimum acceptable wage.
