Evaluating a Shift to a Cashless Monetary Base

A country's central bank is considering a policy to eliminate all physical currency (notes and coins) and transition to a system where the entire monetary base consists solely of electronic reserves held by commercial banks at the central bank. Evaluate this proposed policy by analyzing how it would fundamentally alter the composition of the monetary base and discuss one significant advantage and one significant disadvantage of this new system from the perspective of the central bank's control over the economy.
