Evaluating Bargaining Power in a Non-Competitive Scenario

A small, isolated town has only one mechanic skilled in repairing a rare model of car. When a resident's rare car breaks down, they find the mechanic quotes a repair price significantly higher than what would be charged in a large city with many auto shops. Evaluate the mechanic's ability to set this high price. In your evaluation, identify the key market characteristic that grants the mechanic this power and explain why this power would be diminished or absent in a market with numerous, equally skilled mechanics.
