Evaluating Economic Claims

An economic analyst on a television program states, "The national economy is clearly in a strong recovery because a major tech company in Silicon Valley just reported record profits and hired 5,000 new employees." From the perspective of someone studying the economy at an aggregate level, critique this analyst's conclusion. Explain why this evidence, on its own, is insufficient to assess the health of the entire economy.
