Evaluating the Cooperative Management Model

A common critique of conventional corporate structures is that top-level management may prioritize shareholder profits over employee well-being, sometimes leading to decisions like mass layoffs or stagnant wages even when the company is profitable. In contrast, a worker-owned cooperative features a hierarchical management structure where managers are appointed by and accountable to the worker-owners. Evaluate this cooperative model. In your evaluation, discuss at least one potential strength and one potential weakness of this accountability structure in terms of long-term business sustainability and employee satisfaction.
