Evaluating the Trade-offs of a Digital Regulation Proposal

Many proposals for regulating large digital platforms aim to promote competition. However, these interventions can have complex effects. Select ONE of the following regulatory approaches: a) mandating interoperability between services, b) banning 'self-preferencing' of a platform's own products, or c) requiring data portability for users. Construct an argument that evaluates your chosen approach. Your evaluation must weigh the potential benefits for market competition against the potential unintended negative consequences, such as impacts on innovation, user experience, or data security.
