- As gender equality for a country increases, the outcome of women in STEM decreases.

- the larger the gender gap in college students pursuing STEM degrees.

The less egalitarian a country is:
- the fewer girls outperform boys in science literacy 
- the smaller the gender gap in college students pursuing STEM degrees.
