Evidence Linking Childhood Teasing to Social Anxiety Disorder

Research supports the link between negative childhood experiences and social anxiety disorder. A study found that 92% of adults with this disorder recalled being severely teased during childhood, a significantly higher proportion than the 35% reported by adults with panic disorder.
