Example of Fundamental Attribution Error: Misinterpreting Hostile Behavior
Consider a scenario where an individual named Jamie, who was recently laid off, behaves with hostility. An observer, unaware of the job loss, is likely to commit the fundamental attribution error by attributing Jamie's behavior to a hostile disposition (an internal factor) instead of the actual situational cause (being laid off).
