Example of Negative Correlation: Outside Temperature and Home Heating Costs

Warmer outdoor temperatures are generally associated with lower home heating costs because less heating is needed. As outside temperature rises, heating expenditure tends to fall, illustrating a negative correlation but not necessarily a perfect negative correlation.
