Example of Personality Trait Recognition in Childhood

As school-age children evaluate their competencies through peer comparison, they also recognize their own personality traits and identify traits they wish they had. For instance, a 10-year-old might acknowledge their own shyness while expressing a desire to be more talkative like a specific friend.
