Example of Similarity: Grouping Football Players

The Gestalt principle of similarity can be demonstrated using an arrangement of thirty-six dots in a grid of six rows and six columns. When the rows of dots alternate in color, such as alternating between blue and white dots, an observer naturally groups the similarly colored dots together. As a result, the arrangement is perceived as distinct horizontal rows of alternating colors rather than as a single, uniform group of dots.
