A randomized clinical trial is a specialized type of experiment designed specifically to investigate the effectiveness of psychotherapies and medical treatments. By randomly assigning participants to either a treatment condition or a control condition, researchers can rigorously evaluate whether the clinical intervention produces genuine, beneficial outcomes for patients.
