Export Promotion
Export Promotion is a developmental-state policy tool in which the government actively encourages and coordinates domestic firms to compete for, and capture, international markets. It is often paired with 'export discipline,' where continued state subsidies to a firm are conditioned on that firm demonstrating success in export markets, rather than the government targeting industries or channeling finance without regard for market performance.
