Factors Contributing to Increased ASD Prevalence

The significant rise in autism spectrum disorder diagnoses may not reflect a true increase in the disorder's occurrence. Instead, it is likely attributed to several factors, including the expansion of diagnostic criteria, more proactive efforts to identify cases within communities, and heightened public awareness and acceptance. Additionally, improved knowledge and diagnostic skills among mental health professionals have enabled them to identify more subtle cases.
