Faith as Acceptance
Twenty-two mothers repeatedly shared that it was ‘God’s will’ that they had children with a physical disability. As a result, without questioning and with silent assent, they accepted their child’s disability as their fate or destiny. Five mothers out of 28 said that their God loved them and, therefore, he ‘tested’ their religious commitment by challenging them with a child with disability.
