Concept

False Dichotomy

A fallacy based on a false premise in which a relationship between two contraries are considered contradictories. In other words, two concepts are arbitrarily considered mutually exclusive, limiting other alternatives or interpretations. A common false dichotomy is the idea that one can't be pretty and smart, when in reality, one can be both.
