Figure 6.12b provides a visual breakdown of the balance sheets for two commercial banks (the lending bank and the receiving bank) and the central bank during an inter-bank transfer following a loan creation. The diagram shows how a deposit transfer from the lending bank to the receiving bank is settled by an equivalent transfer of reserves at the central bank, resulting in an overall increase in aggregate bank money.
