Finding the Greatest Common Factor Using the Prime Factors Method

To find the greatest common factor (GCF) of two or more numbers using the prime factors method: 1. Factor each number into its prime factors. 2. List the primes for each number, aligning common factors in vertical columns. 3. Bring down the common factors that all numbers share. 4. Multiply these shared factors together. The resulting product is the GCF of the numbers.
