Forest plot of factors associated with 30-day all cause mortality

Figure 1

  • The odds ratios were calculated for factors that caused mortality in cancer patients with COVID-19 (comorbidity) within 30 days
  • The odds ratio for people who were former smokers compared to other smoking categories was the highest, at approximately 1.50; this indicates a 50% increase in mortality in that group
  • The odds ratio for those who underwent treatment for COVID-19 with both hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin expercined greater mortality compared to those who took either one of the drugs
  • The odds ratio for mortality in those who used both hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin came out to be 3.00; this means that there is a 3 times more likely chance that the patient will die within 30 days compared to those who take only one of the drugs
