Future directions to SRE (Sexuality and Relationship Education) for individuals with ASD

The findings of this systematic review highlight the need for increased community engagement, stakeholder input and prior needs assessment in designing and implementing SRE programs in future. There is also a need for greater theoretical underpinning in future SRE interventions, with stronger consideration placed on the values and ethical stances of all those involved, including researchers, program developers and facilitators, support staff and the individuals receiving SRE interventions.
