Glutamate and Schizophrenia

Glutamate is similar to dopamine in the way it sends messages from the brain to the body (it is also is a neurotransmitter). However, individuals with schizophrenia display a change in their memory formation and cognition. They may have too much glutamate activity in parts of their brain.
