Graded in Vivo

Graded in vivo is a procedure in which patients slowly subject themselves to progressively more challenging anxiety-provoking situations, starting with situations that cause little anxiety and progressing from there. This technique is used as an alternative to in vivo flooding because in vivo flooding can be very stressful, leading to the discontinuation of the treatment.
