Graphical displays of relevance score refers to the numerical score or icon that suggest the relevancy of search results. It is less used nowadays as research suggested that including relevance scores does not necessarily improve usability.

Typically, search pages suggest about 10 hits per page, with hyperlinks to additional pages if more results were retrieved. Users may prefer to have more hits per page, however, Linden (2006) suggested that increasing hits per page may cause web searches to take longer to generate.
