Grouping Nearby Jobs Before Building a Route

In route planning for a service business, it is often more efficient to organize work by location before deciding the stop order. The dispatcher first maps the open jobs and collects those that are close together into compact geographic groups. Jobs with fixed appointment times serve as anchors for those groups, and flexible jobs are placed where they fit best around the anchors. After the groups are formed, the dispatcher can sequence the stops within each group to produce the final daily route.
