Gulistan (The Rose Garden)

The Gulistan, or 'The Rose Garden', is a seminal work of Persian literature written by the 13th-century poet Saadi. Completed in 1258 CE, it is primarily a collection of moral and social anecdotes written in elegant prose and interspersed with short poems.
