Handling Schedule Changes for Service Calls

When a technician is running behind, the office should reach out as soon as the delay is known and share a new arrival estimate; waiting until the original time block has already passed is not acceptable. If an emergency job must replace a previously booked visit, the displaced customer should be contacted immediately, told briefly why the change happened, given an apology, and offered another service time. If a customer cancels by phone, the company should send a written follow-up by text or email so there is clear proof that the appointment was canceled rather than simply missed.
