Hans and Zaccharias Janssen

Dutch spectacle-makers Hans and Zaccharias Janssen are recognized as early pioneers of microscopy who may have invented the simple microscope, the compound microscope, and the telescope during the late 1500s or early 1600s. They were secretive about their work and left no published records, leaving much about their lives and exact contributions unknown.
