Hawthorne Works

The Hawthorne Works was a large factory complex of the Western Electric Company, located near Chicago. This site is historically significant as the setting for the Hawthorne Studies from 1929 to 1932. The facility, as depicted in illustrations, was an expansive industrial plant with numerous buildings and two prominent smokestacks.
