High-Frequency Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) for Treatment-Resistant or Severe and Enduring Anorexia Nervosa (SE-AN) Treatment

rTMS has shown particular promise in treatment-resistant cases of anorexia nervosa, such as those in severe and enduring anorexia nervosa, or SE-AN. 24 SE-AN patients who were followed for 18 months following real or sham rTMS at 10Hz to the left dlPFC, with 10 of the 12 patients initially assigned to sham treatment later receiving actual treatment after being unblinded at 4 months post-randomization.
