stressors like loss of a loved one, unemployment, financial difficulties, violence in a neighborhood—all of these occur at higher levels among African Americans and among U.S. born Latinos. here is a body of research suggesting that at the same chronological age, racial ethnic minorities may be biologically older than Whites in the United States. It reflects the high levels of exposure to psychosocial as well as physical chemical stressors.
