Home Composting Fundamentals for Backyard Gardeners @ University of Michigan - Ann Arbor
Learners will gain the practical knowledge required to establish and maintain an effective backyard compost pile using household scraps and yard waste. The curriculum covers the biological roles of decomposing organisms, the proper balance of carbon and nitrogen inputs, and environmental controls including aeration and moisture. Home gardeners will also learn to troubleshoot common pile issues and properly cure and apply finished compost to enrich their soil.
