Horizontal Parabola Orientation

The orientation of a horizontal parabola is determined by the sign of the coefficient aa in its equation, whether in general form (x=ay2+by+cx = a y^2 + b y + c) or standard form (x=a(yk)2+hx = a(y - k)^2 + h). If a>0a > 0, the parabola opens to the right. If a<0a < 0, the parabola opens to the left.
