How imitation hinders the eradication of COVID-19

If a high availability heuristic is present, there is a high susceptibility for imitation to occur. More people holding a negative perception of a mostly harmless vaccine can cause social interactions spreading these ideas. This can cause a reproduction of similar ideas and in turn cause less people to agree to take the vaccine. With less people immunized to a highly contagious virus, COVID-19 is destined to persist.
