Imaginary Part of a Complex Number

For a complex number expressed in the form a+bia + bi (where both aa and bb are real numbers), the value bb is defined as the imaginary part. Although bb itself is a real number, it is designated as the imaginary part because it acts as the coefficient for the imaginary unit ii. In some visual diagrams, the entire term bibi may be labeled to represent the imaginary component.
