Impact of Celebrity Suicides on Copycat Behavior

The impact of media coverage on suicide rates is particularly strong when the subject is a celebrity. A comprehensive review of 42 studies determined that media reports on a celebrity's suicide are over 14 times more likely to trigger copycat suicides than reports on non-celebrity suicides.
