Short Answer

Individual Incentives in a Coordinated Shift

In 1967, Sweden executed a nationwide, coordinated switch from driving on the left side of the road to the right. Consider the perspective of a single driver. Explain why it would have been against this driver's self-interest to start driving on the right-hand side of the road one day before the official switch, and equally against their self-interest to continue driving on the left-hand side one day after the switch.
