In order of magnitude, antivaccination attitudes are highest among those who (a) were high in conspiratorial thinking, (b) were high in reactance, (c) reported high levels of disgust toward blood and needles, and (d) had strong individualistic/hierarchical worldviews.

Anti-Vaxxer Attitudes

The psychological effects of experiencing rejection and neglect like negative self-perception and instability in relationships can also lead to a negative perception of the world as well. The world, its people and its events can be perceived to be unwelcoming, unfriendly, unpleasant and inherently tough- in line with the upbringing and environment of the child’s years. This can also extend to supernatural and religious beliefs. When people start to view events through the lens of  this constructed representation of the world it can also decrease their trust in relationships and people and phenomenon of the world in general. They would be more likely to interpret events, situations and people’s intentions in the least generous way (looking to detect betrayal, rejection, ill intentions). 

Worldview and Perception

Also known as "conspiratorial ideation", this refers to the general tendency to endorse and believe in conspiracy theories. Those high in conspiracy ideations are less likely to believe in scientific findings and tend to form insular communities that restrict the exposure of correct information.

Demographic variables (including education) accounted for nonsignificant or trivial levels of variance. No relationship between demographic variables and anti-vaxxer attitudes were found in the referenced study.
