Stephanie Kerschbaum and Price conducted the interviews. After years of conducting interviews and analyzing data together Price and Kerschbaum decided to continue to move toward working separately on the same data set.

The results of the anonymous survey were published collaboratively in a book chapter and an article - "Accommodations and Disclosure for Faculty Members with Mental Disability" and "Disclosure of Mental Disability by College and University Faculty: The Negotiation of Accommodations, Supports, and Barriers."

Price notes that throughout the survey and interview process that the team strove to make their research methodology accessible and interdependent.

Values of the Research Team

Price and Kerschbaum are both disabled, Price notes that the dynamic of having both disabled researchers and disabled research participants had effects on the data collection methodologies and analysis including that interviews were conducted in various combinations of in-person, remote, telephone, email, instant messaging, signing, and oral speech with additions of interpreting and captioning. Additionally, participants had assistants, personal interpreters, and service animals present.

Researcher Identity and Study Creation

The survey was created by Price along with Mark Salzer, who is a academic in the field of social and behavior sciences and psychology. After survey creation Stephanie Kerschbaum, an academic in the fields of rhetoric, composition, and disability, and Amber O'Shea, an academic in the field of educational psychology joined the team for analysis of the survey.

Price's study consisted of two phases - an anonymous survey and then in-depth interviews with participants.
